Getting into another skin...

Time for another work in progress post.  First, I will not make claims to have done these from scratch.  I got a rather good template, and its intended for a project I have down the road, but figured I'd sell the skins while I work on the rest of it.  So, first going to release a fantasy line of skins with some cosmetics, then work on the rest as I get time.
Mind that these are WIP shots.  I don't have any hair that looks good on my Open Sim install that I use for my initial testing.  Also, to not have to NSFW the blog, I'm wearing clothing.
Oh, and the shape is the default starting female shape, to get a full idea on the skins themselves.
Just need to figure out where I want to put the DEMO on the skins so people can try them before hand.  I'm open to suggestions.
And that wraps up my post for today.  I will try and be more regular about blogging and giving folks an idea on what we're working on at Faerycat Designs.

It is that time of year, when we pull out our Christmas joy and make it dark. Yes, that sounded better in my head. As you probably know by now, we don't do many events, certainly not at the same time. It takes time and brainpower to come up with new things for every one, and even when its modifying something I already had on hand, like the top hats.
The same base hat, the same base headband, with new trims, new textures for the bands that add that gothmas touch. Oh, did I forget to mention the event? I did, how silly of me. Gothmas by Gaslight has turned into a gacha/shopping event and Faerycat Designs has a booth this year. The top hat offering has 32 total variations on two machines. The natural holly leaves are the rares, and have four different candy cane colouration patterns, as well as three metallic leaf options; copper, silver and gold. One machine has green banded hats with red stripes, and the other the red bands with green stripes. In addition, I've added a simple ribbon choker with a jeweled key and again, the holly leaves. The natural leaves are the rares; the ribbons are dark green, dark red and black; and the keys and leaves come in copper, silver and gold.
And finally, its an event. There are lots of awesome merchants there, with all sorts of things. It starts on the fifteenth of December and runs through to the middle of January, and its well worth checking out.

A huge big thank you to Ely Hynes for the wonderful and whimsical picture. What is it for? Well, there is a a really nice person who has some serious health problems, and so folks have gotten together to do a fundraiser for her. You can find out more about that here, and its explained much better than I could explain it. So, I'll have a gacha machine there, with the proceeds going to Eku, and I'll be DJing at 6 am SLT on the 16th, which is friday. I'll have those cute unrigged mesh top hats, which will fit even a petite.

What do fairies have in their closets?

So, I found out about Fairy Closet a little while ago, and decided to apply.  After all, I'm a faerycat, and most of what I make is faery related.  I missed the first round of it, but... I've been a busy bee, making something that might just appeal to all sorts of fairies:  A tophat.

Originally, I had the script only changing the filaments, which are based on those lamps that were so popular when I was growing up, sometime not long after lava lamps.  But I'd been trying to decide if I want the gem to change, and someone on plurk [yes I listen to my friends] said yes on the gem.
So, there are now two versions of the hat.  Details: The hat is UNRIGGED mesh with flexi prims.  This means you can adjust position, size, and even take it apart if you really want to.  The hat itself [the mesh is in two parts] will shrink down nicely for petites, and will be copy/mod.

It won't be available just yet, not until the next round of Fairy Closet.

Lamps - these have three light settings as well as an off.  And with the included hud, can be customized to fit any decor.
And the mesh pieces will be available shortly for those interested in picking them up full perm.

Huds and Eyes

I've been working on figuring out Huds lately, because it seemed to me that I could do it with minimal script count, and it would make things easier for me and others too.  Huds for my ears and tails are coming soon, by the way.

So, I've re-released a base prim eye set, scaled to Petites, but scaleable to most any size, really.  They start off with Silver Ghost, but you can change them.  The downside is they have two scripts, instead of one, like the mesh eyes.

The Mesh eyes are one script, rigged, and set so you can change them individually, so that you can do dual coloured eyes, just like with the prim eyes.

And the Huds only have one script, as well.  The scripts are no-mod, but the eyes and huds themselves are mod, and the huds come with copies of the scripts as backups, if you de-script the eyes without making a backup.

One Voice

If you haven't been following the current Second Life drama regarding a handful of skin creators, DMCAs and court cases, you can look here or here for more information.  I'm taking part in One Voice because this could happen to anyone, and while I don't know all the facts, the ones I have are suspicious making.  So, onto what I made for the event -  a mesh frame for photos or paintings.  And to sweeten the deal, it comes with 12 textures suitable for matboard, and 12 wood textures for the frame.

Full perm, with my usual EULA included on a notecard.  It is designed to use in world textures specifically.  Oh, and the textures are 512x512.

News, Events and Other Things

Let's see - what news do we have today. The supernatural hunt seems to have gone well last month, and this month we are in the Bunny Love Hunt, which is going on through the 31st. Next month we'll be participating in the World Goth Fair, so stay tuned for more details as we get them - got some goodies for that, that will hopefully go over well.

Also, we recently acquired the land behind us and have expanded and remodeled our building. Come check it out - things are still a little messy and we're going to be setting up a directory as soon as I have time to script something up.

And lastly, we've got a satellite shop at the new Builders Brewery Creator's Village - with our full perm stuff.

Supernatural Hunt and other news

Hello everyone. Brand new stuff here at Faerycat Designs. One, we're in the Supernatural 3 Hunt, which kicks off today - you can get more information here. Because of the new craze in Petites and other small avatars, we've included the prize in two sizes. So good luck and good hunting!

In other news, we have some of our other merchandise either already downsized, or in the process of being shrunk down. If there is something you'd like to see sooner, let us know and we'll get it shrunk down sooner.

Some of our items are already easy to shrink down, too!

RP Gadgets - Die Roller Hud

Presenting the first in a line of roleplaying gadgets: the Die Roller Hud. Featuring mesh dice for an authentic feel, a single low-lag script, the option to roll either different die types or multiples, and a GM mode for hidden die rolls, this should be a real hit.

Next on the block is a multi-tool, with a chatter/emoter, die roller, and titler.
